Egyptian Anise Seeds Bulk Export

Egyptian anise seeds (Pimpinella anisum) are harvested annually in Upper Egypt, with Beni Suef producing seeds with consistently high anethole content — the primary aromatic compound that determines aroma strength and commercial value in end-product applications.
Anise seeds are harvested at full seed maturity, then dried, cleaned through multi-stage screening and aspiration systems, and sorted to remove foreign matter before packing. Harvest timing is critical: seeds harvested at peak maturity deliver the highest anethole concentration and uniform greenish-grey color preferred by European spice buyers.
Primary applications include herbal tea blending, liqueur and spirits production (anise-flavored drinks are a major volume driver in Mediterranean markets), food seasoning, confectionery, and pharmaceutical preparations. The anethole content — with a minimum of 2.5% specified for industrial buyers — determines suitability for each application.
Buyers should specify required anethole percentage and acceptable foreign matter limits in their purchase orders.
